Our client based in West Sussex is searching for 3 to 4 temporary night time carers who can provide personal care and support to their service users.
Working hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Sunday
Duties include:
- To enable service users to meet their individual personal care and wellbeing needs
- To enable service users to maintain their nutritional needs - prepare drinks and light snacks
- To enable service users to have their medication, following training and the six point check of administration
- To assist with toileting and/or incontinence as appropriate
- To enable service users to mobilise safely
- To enable service users to follow their daily routines including individual and group activities
- To support service users to keep their areas clean, tidy and safe
- To support with the service user’s shopping as necessary
- To provide companionship to the service user
- To enable service users to participate in activities in the local community
- Complete all required documentation in line with company policies and procedures
- Ensure the PCS is completed after each interaction pertaining to a service user
- Liaise with your manager, deputy manager, senior staff, medical professionals and service users’ relatives
and representatives to ensure the comfort and wellbeing of service user
- Attend supervision meetings and annual appraisal meetings with your Line manager
- Attend team meetings
- Uses such equipment and substances as are necessary for the completion of tasks, e.g. cleaning chemicals,
hoists etc, all within the appropriate Health and Safety guidelines and observing prescribed procedures for
health and safety and fire
- Attends training courses and follow-up refresher courses as appropriate, particularly relating to Health and
Safety and emergency procedures
- Carry out personal, social or domestic tasks as set out in a care plan, agreed with the client, in accordance
with safe working practices and food hygiene regulations. Complete tasks in the time allocated
- Promote the values of the organisation at all times, ensuring service users are protected from abuse and
have their safety and wellbeing at the heart of all you do
- Report bad practice and work in a positive way to rectify concerns. Take responsibility and accountability for
your actions during your employment with the service
- Undertakes other such duties as may be required by the seniors, management or legislation that affects the
role you have undertaken
They need carers who can start immediately. Someone who can drive would be a bonus.
