Here at Guardian Carers, we pride ourselves on providing specialist care for a range of conditions. Parkinson’s disease is one of them. We understand that Parkinson’s disease can be a life-changing condition. It can progressively impact the brain which leads to an array of symptoms that can be difficult to manage.

However, Guardian Carers is here to support you and your loved ones with the best Parkinson’s care at home. No matter what needs and requirements your loved one has, we can guarantee that we can find you the carer to tick all the boxes.

We can provide your loved one with a variety of experienced, and highly qualified carers to care for them in the comfort of their own home, therefore they can still be surrounded by familiar faces and their precious memories.

We are firm believers that home is the best place to be. Research also shows that remaining at home instead of moving to a care home, for instance, can lead to happier and longer lives. This is why we recommend live-in care at home.

Live-in care is one of the most comprehensive types of care at home you can find. Live-in care is particularly beneficial for someone with Parkinson’s disease. Our live-in care service can be enlisted 7 days a week, 24 hours per day or it can be tailored depending on your family member’s needs and requirements.

What does live-in care for Parkinson’s consist of?

Live-in care offers you or your loved ones the advantage of full-time care and companionship. Our live-in carers will work with you and your loved ones to offer well-needed support with day to day life.

The beauty of live-in care is that it is completely customisable and flexible to one’s needs. Our live-in care service can be enlisted on a temporary basis, be it for one week or a few months or on a permanent basis, providing care and support for an indefinite period of time. Live-in care can also be part-time, full-time or 24-hour.

Our expert live-in care consultants will ensure that you or your loved ones will receive the full benefits of live-in care at home. They will offer their support in finding the most suitable live-in carer, bases on each individual needs and specifications.

With Guardian Carers, you will have peace of mind knowing that the live-in carers you will receive will be someone who has been thoroughly vetted for your safety and security prior to moving into your home.

How do we check that the live-in carers are right for the role?

Our expert consultants take no shortcuts when it comes to vetting our live-in carers. All our live-in carers must have a minimum of 2 years of professional care experience. We do not accept anyone below this limit.

Our vetting process starts with interviewing the candidates. Based on the job description provided by yourself, your consultant will research the most suitable candidates with Parkinson’s experience.

Once they have found live-in carers that match your exact specifications, they will set up interviews with them. The interviews can take place via video link or face to face, depending on the location of the candidate and the health measures in place at the time (for example, Covid-19 restrictions).

Our consultants also make sure that the live-in carers they select for you have certificates or diplomas which are relevant to the role. They also ensure that the carer has a clean background by reviewing their enhanced DBS check. If the carer does not have a DBS check that is in date, our consultants will support them in applying for one.

The final step in vetting the live-in carers is checking their references. Our consultants do this by calling the live-in carers’ previous employers and asking them questions relating to the role. Each live-in carer we select is required to provide 2 references that our consultants can contact.

How can a live-in carer support your life at home?
