We take great care in selecting candidates. Our candidate undergoes a strict vetting procedure which includes:

  • Pre-screening following application
  • Face to face interview by a trained carer consultant
  • CV analysis, previous experience is discussed in detail
  • Verbal reference checking.
  • All placed carers are provided with a free place on our Safeguarding course
  • We request all carers undertake First Aid training which we also offer in-house

Only a small percentage of applicants are put forward to our clients for an interview. You can be assured you are meeting the absolute top selection of carer candidates.

By working closely with our clients we gain a deep understanding of your requirements, ensuring the best match is made. Our professional carer consultants understand that every individual requires a different type of care thus we look for carers who have experience and specialised skills.

What background checks to we undertake on carers?

In addition to a thorough face to face interview with a trained Care Consultant and verbal reference checks, we request all candidates hold First Aid Certification and attend a Safeguarding course every 3 years as recommended by the HSE. We request a DBS certificate from all carers.

Ongoing training

Guardian Carers is unique in offering carers a free place on a Safeguarding course which is tailored for our carers. Our courses are OCN certified with detailed assessments. Our First Aid courses are FAIB approved and our trainers highly skilled with decades of experience.
